Baby Wiper Card

Here's my take on an interactive wiper card. I made the theme baby for a good friend of mine who's about to give birth soon. The sentiment pops up when you pull both ends of the card apart.

The pink cardstock is from Bazzill, the background paper is from my scrap stash. I used my Silhouette cameo for the shape and stamped giraffe and lion images using Close to My Heart Wild Wonders stamp set. The pop up sentiment is from the same set too. I embellished with brads and flowers randomly.

Girlfriends

I've been feeling a bit low lately, and a couple of my good friends have been really there for me. I made this card for one of them just to say thank you. This stamp is from Art Impressions. I took a quick picture to keep as a remembrance. I am in love with this stamp set. The picture, and the sentiments that came with it too. I'm making a second one for my other friend too.

Geek Is Chic

I just received my order today and it include the new stamp set Geek Is Chic. I decided to play with the glasses and see if it fits the Owl from this month's Stamp of the Month and to my delight it did!

I used Chalk It Up paper for my background, Lagoon cardstock for the photo mat cut from Cricut Artbooking cartridge and black enamel stars. I just love the sentiments from this Geek Is Chic stamp set. And for some reason I can not get over how stinkin' cute this owl is from What A Hoot!! To top the whole card off, I added a paper bow using one of the Chalk It Up papers too.

You still have time! For every $50 qualifying purchase you make, this cute stamp set can be yours for $5 only, but only for this month!

August - Chalk It Up Workshop

I am so excited to finally finish my projects for this month's card workshop! I am using Chalk It Up and made 3 cards using that paper. I also made a 4th card exclusively using this month's Stamp of the Month - What A Hoot.

This card uses the new stamp set Teacher Appreciation, teal shimmer trim, white enamel stars and the new black stripe twill ribbon.

This is a 5x7 card using the new stamp set Great Job. I colored the image using ShinHan markers and cut out some of the stars and mounted it using foam tape. The background is one of many designs from Chalk It Up Picture My Life kit.

This card requires no stamping at all. It highlights another design from the Chalk It Up Picture My Life set and simply embellished with the new black striped twill ribbon. I really really love this ribbon. It looks so classy!!

And last but not the least, a chevron themed card featuring this month's SOTM - What A Hoot. I used the black paper fundamentals chevron design, layered it with chevron embossed paper, and decorated the card using most of the images from the stamp set. I colored using ShinHan, and sponged the sentiment with a mix of orange and black inks.

This card workshop costs $15 for all 4 cards. If you choose to only get the Chalk It Up themed cards, it will be $12. Kits will be pre-cut and pre-stamped. If you wish to buy the stamp sets and markers, shop now at shabbychiccrafting.ctmh.com. I reserve the right to switch up the PML cards since each kit comes with only 2-3 of each design.

If you wish to customize, please feel free to leave a comment or email me at shabbychiccrafting@gmail.com.

Thanks so much!

Flower Shop

Art Impressions has this new line called TryFolds and I'm kinda hooked on it. So far I've bought 4 different kinds, and have just been having a blast coloring them. The stamp I used below is called Flower Shop. I'm still experimenting on colors and papers, given these images are so detailed. For this exercise I used Spectrum Noir alchohol markers. I will be trying watercolor pencils and distress markers next and experimenting on different kinds of papers.

Here's what it looks like from the inside.

Watercolor Your Own Kind of Wonderful

It's been awhile since I did any watercoloring, so I thought I'd bring out the brushes again. Below is watercolor background inspired card. I heat embossed a mosaic background, colored it wonderful, and used a sentiment from Close To My Heart's Your Own Kind of Wonderful stamp set. The butterfly is stamped using the retired Creme Brûlée ink.

What A Hoot!

This month's stamp of the month features this cute looking build-an-owl kind of image. Here's my take on it. I started out as aiming for a black and white monochromatic look, then along the way decided to play with my new ShinHan markers, so here's the finished product.

I used black chevron patter Paper Fundamentals for the base, and just stamped the image in plain white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment using Gypsy ink, then colored it in a bit with this ShinHan Peony Purple marker.

Here's a look at this month's Stamp of the Month. You can get your hands on this super cute stamp set for just $5 with your qualifying purchase worth $50. It's so easy!

Better With A Friend

One of my favorite stamp sets in this new catalog is Better with A Friend. I colored in the images using the new ShinHan Touch Twin markers. I just love how colorful and vibrant these ShinHan markers are! For the background I used the recently retired Ariana paper pack.

This stamp set is a Hostess Reward and you can earn this too when you host a gathering. Ask me how to join in on this fun activity!

Sneak Peak on Paper Packs

I attended this year's Close to My Heart Convention in Disneyland but didn't get a chance to really write about it. It was indeed a memorable experience. I learned a lot and met a few friends along the way. It was 3 days of fun filled activities, workshops, seminars, and I sure did pick up a lot.

Part of our workshop is creating these cards that showcased the new papers for the new Annual Inspirations books.

The middle ones are the holiday themed Snowhaven and Yuletide Carol, the left one is Scaredy Cat and the right one uses Pathfinding. I can't wait to create using these papers! Every single collection is just gorgeous!!!

August Birthdhays

I have a couple of friends whose birthdays happen to be in August and thought I'd make their birthday cards in advance.

I used The Stamps of Life's stamp of the month for this card below and DCWV birthday paper pack. It's so simple yet the big candles sure do make a statement!

This card below also uses DCWV birthday paper, and I embossed the Cricut Happy Birthday folder to add some design and texture. The balloons were cut using Cricut's Birthday Bash cartridge.

Score Board

I already own a Martha Stewart score board, but after CTMH released their version, I don't even know where my MS one went. This score board by CTMH scores precisely, doesn't tear the card stock and makes a great imprint on the first score. The ruler line is so clear, and best of all it has the diagonal arm that you can use to score if you want to make a different project other than the regular cards.

Check out the video!

It's A Boy!

I've had this Wild Wonders stamp set for awhile but never had the opportunity to use it. I so love this set, how cute the images of the animals are, and am glad I finally know someone who's pregnant that I can make a card for and use this adorable stamp set.

I used some leftover Free To Be Me and Ivy Lane paper scraps as base. This stamp set is just way too cute for something to be left out, so instead of making a pretty lay out card, I tried to squeeze as many animal images as I could. It's a jungle out there! :)

Happy Retirement

One of our bosses will be retiring soon so I made this card in advance. It's always hard when someone you've worked with for a long time packs up and leaves. Be it for retirement, or better opportunities, the dynamics of the company changes and I for one am not a big fan of change. Anyway, here's my thank you and goodbye card.

I used some scrap paper and embossed one of the layer piece. The image and sentiment are stamped from Taylored Expressions From My Window collection. I used the Arched Window die for the window look. I really love this collection/theme from Taylored Expressions! I used Spectrum Noir markers for the image. I did this last week and unfortunately have already forgotten the color combos I used.

Happy Retirement!
