Dollie with Cupcake Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! I'm so happy to be able to share a new card with you today! I already gave this card to my daughter's school admin staff so I'm able to post and share now. This is a happy birthday card with the sentiment lettered by me, and stamp using The Greeting Farm's Dollie with Cupcake.

I used pink background Pixie cardstock from Close to My Heart, and pattered papers are from Echo Park - Birthday Wishes paper pack. I colored her up using Copics and used Nuvo glitter glue for the heart pin and cupcake topper. For the cupcake frosting I also used Nuvo, the non-glitter version because I wanted to create a real whipped cream sort of look.

The flower blossoms are a mix from Wild Orchids Crafts and Prima Marketing flowers. Don't you just love how the colors came together? I love it!

Quick Creations 2017 Guest Design Team Call

I am so excited to have the opportunity to apply for Quick Creations' 2017 Guest Design Team Call. It's always been my dream to be part of a design team so I can share my love for card making. I decided to share projects using Stamping Bella's Tiny Townie Birthday Party Stamp Set. I love using Glossy Accents on balloons, that extra dimension just makes the balloons look more realistic and I always get the "wow" reaction.

Another card I thought of sharing is a birthday card using The Greeting Farm's Birthday Anya. I made this for my daughter's best friend's birthday. Shaker cards are always a hit with kids and the image of Anya reminds me of her best friend too! 

Last but not the least, I'm a big fan of La-La Land Crafts and this is just one of the cards I made using Celebrate You Marci. I just realized all my entries for this DT call are all birthday cards! This Marci card is one of my favorites, it just looks so much fun and my friend loved it! I used Copic markers to color Marci and paper pieced the banner she's holding to match the die cut piece.

Birthday Anya

Hi everyone! I'm back! I spent pretty much most of July traveling and since getting back have been so busy at work. Between jet lag and just being immersed in work the last 3 weeks, I've had 0 time to do what I love. I have this one card that I made before I left for my trip though, and I'm glad I held back sharing it. Or else it will take another couple of weeks before I get to post again.

I'm just trying to get back to my groove, so please bear with me. I have 6 cards lined up to do. August seems to be a big birthday month and I can't imagine even finishing all 6 in 1 weekend, but I will try my best.

Today I'm sharing this birthday card I made for one my daughter's daycare teacher. I used Birthday Anya (3), and forgive me I seem to have lost the Copic colors I used. The pink background papers are Cotton Candy (retired) from Close to My Heart, and the patterned paper is from Echo Park Birthday Wishes pad. The circle die cut is MFT's Die-Namics Circled Stitched Frames, and poured a handful of mixed colored sequins.

I so missed crafting, and coloring! I'm in for a lot of practice again being away for so long.

Coloring w/ Color Pencils - TGF

Hi everyone! So I've been pretty quiet lately, but it doesn't mean I'm not crafting. I've been occupied lately with learning to color using my color pencils. If you follow me on Facebook you know I've just recently purchase a ton of pencils. So now I have the Prismacolor 150 on top of my Spectrum Noir Blendable pencils. I've also been hooked on adult coloring so I figured why not start using these pencils to color my images like Marci, Anya and the likes. So I've been patiently practicing with the help of Kit and Clowder. I have to admit coloring using pencils takes a whole LOT of patience, of which I'm embarrassed to say I don't have. But, for the love of coloring and crafting, I've been practicing.

Here's my first project/image from The Greeting Farm. I believe her name's Cordelia. More of like an image since I haven't yet really mastered how it is to make layered cards with so many laces and flowers (and yet I call my site shabby chic!). If I only have all the time in the world! Anyway, I digress. So here's my first full colored pencil image.

I embossed the background pink cardstock using Close to My Heart's Heart Embossing Folder (Z3018). The embellishments are from Adorn It, it's the closest I have to flowers. The pierced flourish is from My Favorite Things and I used Sweet Leaf ink from CTMH to make it green. Background paper and image were both die cut using Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stax from MFT.

So for the colors, I used Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils. I followed Kit and Clowder's instructions down to the last color.

Skin - 02, 04, 07, 08, 89, 96, 100

Hair - 88, 84, 86, 95

Outfit - 1, 61, 62, 63, 116, 54

Pink Accent - 114, 34, 35, 40, 105

I used Strathmore Drawing paper, which probably isn't the best paper out there given the tooth still showing even after 3 layers of burnishing. I'm not sure if it's my pencils or paper, but my next project is to try the same image using Prismacolor pencils. This way I will know whether the problem lies with me, the paper or just the brand of pencils I used.
