Watercolor Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone! Wow I can't believe it's been 5 months since my last blog post! Holy cow! Time really does fly! I apologize for my long absence. Things have been crazy, at work and at home, and to be honest with so many things I'm trying to juggle, it's all just a bit too much. My only regret is not having enough time set aside to do what I love. Hopefully that can and will change soon.

August has got to be the month with most birthdays happenings left and right. There's probably at least 5 people I know who celebrate it this month. I'm so bad at this I actually was only able to make 1 card for now. Hopefully these friends of mine won't mind belated cards!

I used last month's Stamp of the Month from Close to My Heart. The stamp set is called Storybook Alphabet. I got this idea from Pinterest c/o Yana Smakula. Intead of using Copics though I used my love for watercolor instead and painted over the letters using Prima Marketing's watercolor confections.  I glazed over every letter with Glossy Accents hoping to give it that dimension and added my own handwritten sentiment. I wanted a clean and simple look and yet at the same time use everything I love which is watercolor and lettering.

Here's another view from this angle.

Am thinking of adding some shimmer later on when it's all complete dry. We'll see how that goes.

If you guys have Instagram account, check me out over there where I'm a bit more active. I snapped a couple of videos of how I did this card on Instragram Stories.

Thanks for stopping by!

Clown Luka Birthday Card

Hi everyone! I made a birthday card for a guy, and tried to make it as masculine as possible. It's a 50th birthday card and I wanted to make it a bit special. I've been inspired by Martha Tucker to make this easel card. The star of this card is Birthday Clown Luka from La-La Land Crafts. The papers I used are from Pink Paislee and Echo Park.

I tried to take it in different angles, but I'm afraid it all looks the same I think.

Dies Used:

Copics Used:
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, E04
Hair: E18, E15, E11
Balloon: RV66, RV63
Pants: B99, B97, B95
Shirt Polka Dots: N0, R39, YR27, BG13, BG57
Shoes: YR27, YR24, YR23

This is another one of my love for La La Land Crafts creations. They are always my first go to whenever I need to make a card.

Hope the recipient enjoys this! And I hope it's not too girly? It's supposed to be masculine.

Simple Valentine's Day Card

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day! Mine was great! Can't remember when was the last time we celebrated but yesterday was fun. Valentine's doesn't have to be elaborate, and so the card I made is as simple as it gets too. I do love how it turned out though. I've been doing lots of coloring on my cards lately, images, that it's a welcome change to do a clean and simple card.

R35, R37, R39
G40, G43

I used Taylored Expression's Wreath of Love, colored it with Red and Green Copics and added some Nuvo Crystals to make the dots. I did a little brush of clear glitter on the hearts too. I lettered the sentiment myself and kept it as simple as possible.

Hope you all had fun yesterday!

Dollie with Cupcake Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! I'm so happy to be able to share a new card with you today! I already gave this card to my daughter's school admin staff so I'm able to post and share now. This is a happy birthday card with the sentiment lettered by me, and stamp using The Greeting Farm's Dollie with Cupcake.

I used pink background Pixie cardstock from Close to My Heart, and pattered papers are from Echo Park - Birthday Wishes paper pack. I colored her up using Copics and used Nuvo glitter glue for the heart pin and cupcake topper. For the cupcake frosting I also used Nuvo, the non-glitter version because I wanted to create a real whipped cream sort of look.

The flower blossoms are a mix from Wild Orchids Crafts and Prima Marketing flowers. Don't you just love how the colors came together? I love it!

So here are my Copics used:
Hair - E53, E55, E57
Skin - E000, E00, E01, E11, E21
Blush - R20
Lips - R27
Dress - RV14, RV13, RV11
Apron and Socks - W0, W1, W3
Cupcake Sleeve - Y17, Y15

Hope you guys enjoy this!

Gerbera Daisies

Hi Everyone! Happy New Year! I apologize for being MIA for quite some time. The holidays were crazy and now January is already more than halfway in! Where does the time go?? I hope you guys had a wonderful holiday! I promise this year to post more, share more and maintain the blog more. If you follow me on Instagram I am more active there, and you can see my lettering journey.

I have not however forgotten my first love, which is papercrafting and coloring. This year part of my New Year's resolution is to balance my crafting, which means I should be giving my papercrafting, lettering and coloring about equal amounts of time. I've been so engrossed in lettering I pretty much neglected the rest.

Anyway, for the start of the year, I'm sharing a get well soon card which I made from the Gerbera Daisies I colored as part of Kit and Clowder's Elements of Nature Class.

Copics Used:
Y02, Y17
YR02, YR14, YR18
RV63, RV66, RV69

I thought about making a Get Well Soon card to give to a colleague of mine who's been out sick this whole week. Hope this will somehow cheer him up!

That's all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by again!

La-La Land Craft Retreat Projects (Part 5)

Ok, didn't realize it will take 5 posts, but here's the last. I hope you're not tired yet of these projects. I reserved the best for the last.

The first one is an album that has a case to hold it. The case comes as a stand too! And the handle! Oh I love how it looks! These La-La Land dies are just so versatile you can turn them to anything! Don't you just love how the front decorations on the box look like?? It features Fabulous Marci which will soon be released.

Dies Used:
Fabulous Stiletto, Filigree Bow, Hearts Flurry Border

And here's another jaw dropping project, the last of the bunch. So so pretty! Love how it opens and it just keeps giving you more and more! The folds are intricate and every single panel is just well thought of.

Dies Used:
Fabulous Dress, Love Doves

And here's a view of ALL the projects done.

That's it folks! All 3 days of work, into 5 posts! Should you get the chance, I encourage you to attend one of these craft retreats, aside from making awesome projects, I guarantee you'll meet new people, friends, and have a great time! It's a relaxing 3-day retreat and I swear you will not regret it!

La-La Land Craft Retreat (Part 4)

So I've shared cards, 3D, flip albums, now I'm on to more albums and drawers and boxes. There's just way too many pictures to share that I had to break up the posts so you can appreciate just how complex these projects are.

First is clutch bag looking album. This is genius! I love love love how it turned out! Here's how the outside folder up clutch bag album looks like.

Once you open it up, you see 3 pocket folders in the middle.

Here's what the folded layers look like.

Don't you think it looks pretty? So classy!

Next is this album with what looks like endless pages/flips.

Dies Used:

Doesn't it look great? I don't know what to do with it yet, but it looks so pretty!

Tired of albums yet? Don't be, coz here's another one! I did warn you, we do so many of these amazing projects at the retreat. It truly takes your mind somewhere else.

Here's 2 boxes in 1, with the flaps or sides of the box as flip flap albums. This is probably my favorite album box of all. It's so lovely!!! The top features Fabulous Marci, and I die cut her glasses using polka dot patterned paper.
